Suzanne Vega was one of the pioneers of the female Singer Songwriters that domineered the late eighties and early nineties. Her unexpected self-titled hit album Suzanne Vega from 1985, with well-loved song "Marlene On The Wall" topped the charts and won her the admiration of critics and public alike. Last year she started a new project; for both commercial (control) and artistic reasons she decided to re-record all her favourite songs in intimate, acoustic settings. Resulting in Close Up Vol. 1 Love Songs and Close Up Vol. 2 People And Places. The new arrangements called for a new order in her catalogue and Vega grouped her songs thematically. This third installment is a collection of her most haunting songs. Vega used to call them her 'Mental Health' songs, as she explains: 'they are descriptions of a place deep inside.
