Opis
Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) was also one of the leading pianists of his day, whose virtuosic talent continued delighted audiences well into his later years. Today, his piano concertos, written primarily for his own use in concert, occupy a sparkling place in the repertoire. This 2CD set contains all five piano concertos, which were composed between 1858 and 1895 and demonstrate his developing style.
Philippe Entremont, long admired for his flair in Romantic music, performs in an all-French line-up with the Orchestre National du Capitol de Toulouse and Michel Plasson.
