Opis
Ilario Gregoletto (Klavecimbel)
Elena Modena (Klavecimbel, Basso Continuo)
Born in 1685, the same year as Bach and Handel, Domenico Scarlatti wrote in a variety of forms. Chief among these are his many keyboard sonatas that proved influential in the development of the Classical style. The sonatas in this release are skilful modern arrangements based on compositions originally written for violin (or woodwind) and continuo. They are performed with aplomb by two artists whose engaging playing invites fresh insight into this small but significant area of Italian Baroque music.
