Łagiewniki and Shrine of the Divine Mercy are located four kilometers south of the Cracow`s center. Once there was a village located on the banks of the Wilga River. the name Łagiwniki originates from the words łagies, wchich means huge containers for any sorts of liquids, and from Łagiewnik, that maltster, brewer or mead brewer. These were the occupations of some of the inhabitants of than village. Others busied themselves with commerce.
