Lexicon of the Soviet camps and prisons in Polish lands in 1944-1945 is a publication presenting beginnings, development and role of the Soviet camps in system of repression aiming at Poles. The book contains information concering almost every identified by historians prisons and camps, i.a. its leadership, localisation, approximate figures of inmates and periods of activity.
Soviet Camps and Prisons on Polish Lands (1944-1945) is the first methodological look at this Gulag-style system of oppression imposed directly upon Polish lands. A total of 95 camps and prisons are identified and described, through which perhaps 150,000 Poles and persons of Polish heritage passed, many never to return.
